ENGAGING WITH THE WORLD HERITAGE SITE using board-game methodology.
Liverpool Urbingo Project Workshop
with Prof Jekaterina Lavrinec from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania.
Liverpool has some of the most amazing buildings of any city in the UK. The people who paid for, designed and built some of our historic landmarks have left us a legacy that just keeps on giving.
Engage Liverpool, a social enterprise working with residents who live in the city centre, wants to explore these buildings, their history and the fact that many of them are considered to be so significant UNESCO has declared them to belong to the cultural heritage of the whole world and named Liverpool a Maritime Mercantile City World Heritage Site.
Come and help make a board game for Liverpool that will enable residents and visitors alike to better engage with our heritage and connect more deeply with the city in which we live.
We will be designing and making all the parts of the game that will connect people with the buildings of the World Heritage Site in Liverpool. That will involve designing a map, taking photographs across the city centre, linking a text of history to each chosen image, deciding on the rules of the game, marketing and printing the completed game etc.
