In this talk Matthew will explore two recent research projects examining the quality of housing design in England.  A Housing Design Audit examined the standard volume house builder product across the UK and asked, why is it like it is?  This was followed by a study of the experience of our housing and neighbourhoods during lockdown.  Both reveal significant deficiencies and a clear agenda for improvement.
