PLACED is a social enterprise that delivers creative Education and Engagement programmes that bring people together to make better places and help to diversify the voices involved in the design and decision-making making process. They engage people in design, planning and development, working with a wide range of clients across the North West and beyond.

PLACED advocates for genuine involvement of communities and stakeholders, and put creativity, accessibility and transparency at the heart of their approach. They are passionate about helping to ensure those who do not traditionally have a voice can participate on an equal platform.

Before the Covid-19 crisis hit, the PLACED team could regularly be found out and about, delivering events and activities including pop-up shops, engagement from their campervan Ed and design workshops. Since Covid, they have embraced digital, both for the Education and Engagement programmes. This includes Placed Engagement, a visual, interactive and accessible online tool where people can share ideas about places and spaces in their city.

Join this session with Jo Harrop to hear how PLACED have embraced the digital and the physical to influence decision makers in the future of our built environment.

Jo Harrop is passionate about empowering people to improve their built environment and inform decisions about the future of their local neighbourhoods. Her roles in regeneration, project management and education enabled her to develop a significant experience of working with diverse stakeholders and communities to understand the complex issues they were facing within their neighbourhoods. It was this experience which inspired her to establish PLACED in 2011, a Social Enterprise that works to engage and empower communities about the built environment.

The meeting will take place virtually on Zoom. Joining instructions will be emailed a couple of days in advance to those registering using the Eventbrite link below
